Like any good thing, too much can lead to bad things. Just ask Dave…

All of these new commercials for Bing, the new search engine on the block, got me thinking about the struggle other companies are going through trying to dethrone Google. They all try to load up with words and pictures to try and keep you on the site. None of which is bad if you’re also wanting to read some headlines from the day or wanting to look at some bad internet advertisements. But if you simply want to look up if you’re spelling the word “quiche”, where do you still go?

The more they try to top it, the more they show why it’s still the king.

I’m a fan of movie parodies like Movies in 15 Minutes. But this, while not necessarily being a parody is equally brilliant.

My favorite is Lieutenant Dan.

I’ve shown a few of these on here before and they’ve generally been pretty popular so I figured I’d share another one of the awesome ads that have shown up on the side of a Facebook page.

Since I’m going to Thailand in the name of Jesus as a missionary, why not also become an ordained Buddhist monk while I’m there? That sounds like a great idea!

I love all of the random ads that show up on Facebook based on certain things on your profile.

What are some of the best ads you’ve seen on Facebook lately?

I read this on another blog and thought that it was so good that I had to post it here.

If you know me of have been following this blog, then no doubt you’ve noticed that no matter what the layout of the blog is, there’s always a Twitter spot that shows my most recent updates. I’m on Twitter; you should be too. It’s cool, and as I recently found, it’s also biblical!

Like a swallow, like a crane, so I twitter;
I moan like a dove;
My eyes look wistfully to the heights;
O Lord, I am oppressed, be my security.
– Isaiah 38:14 (New American Standard Bible)

So if you don’t have a Twitter yet, go get one and then follow me.

It’s so cold here that when you take a mug of steaming water and throw it into the air, it instantly evaporates. I had heard about this and seen a couple videos but wanted to do it myself so I did.

Here’s also a video of the whole thing so you can see it in motion.

This brings some amusement to the bitter cold that it has been here for the last week. Although supposedly it’s supposed to get up to 0 by Tuesday.

Right now 0 would feel like 40.

On the old blog, one of the most popular posts was one where I showed an ad that I saw on facebook and how interesting that was. Well, it’s time to do it again. I was on facebook and saw this on the side of my profile:

Geek Dating

Has anyone else seen this ad? I can understand all of the singles ads that flood facebook, but geek dating? What on my profile would make whatever decides which ads go where say, “Ooh yeah, Dustin’s single so he needs some dating ads, but what kind… hmm. College dating? No. Christian dating? No. Oh yes! Geek dating! That’s the one!”?

Has anyone else found this ad? What did you think of it?
