Hey, that rhymed!

This was the last song of Unite 2009, Marvelous Light by Charlie Hall. It was such a great night all around. Also, it was my birthday, so Jeff had everyone sing me happy birthday.

It was such a cool night to be a part of. I’ll talk more about it in the next day or so.

A week and a half ago, my friend and mentor, Autumn and I made a music video for the Chris Tomlin song, You Lifted Me Out. It was well received by friends, and friends of friends on facebook, so I figured I should share it on here.

It’s amusing what you can accomplish in a couple hours on a Wednesday afternoon when you have nothing better to do :) .

I’ve been trying to get my hands on this video for a year and a half. And now, thanks to the miracles of Firefox and the internet, I was able to do it. This is video of the skit that the youth leaders did at the 2008 senior high retreat and is quite possibly the greatest few minutes ever captured on video.

Told ya.

So, last night I announced that I’m leaving Alaska in January to go to Australia for a couple years. Today, I’m asking any and all of you who have pictures and/or videos of me and you to email them to me at dustin@shaggyworshiper.com. I want them for a video that I’m going to make and would like to have as many pictures and videos to work with. So check your cameras, iPhoto libraries, and pictures folders, and video files and send me files that have you and me in them!

Thank you much,

d

Here’s the last video put together about our time in Thailand. I took almost an hour of video while we were there, (and could’ve taken a lot more), and condensed it down into the four videos that I made.

Again, I can’t state enough how amazing and eye opening this trip has been to me personally. This trip has made me want to travel, travel often, and go to all parts of the world and be continuously reminded that God is God everywhere.

He is God everywhere.

Here’s the third video update of the trip, this one is in more of a slideshow format. I don’t know how many videos I’ll be able to do for the next few days as we’ll be in a routine of caring for the kids here, but we’ll see.

Thanks to all of you who have left comments here on the blog as well as on Facebook. It really means a lot to know that there are people back home who are continuously praying for us. Thanks.

Miss you all,

Dustin

It’s Saturday afternoon here right now. We’re at the resort where the missionary retreat is being held at. It’s hot and humid here beyond belief. The heat falls on you like a hot towel. Here’s a video capturing the fun and excitement that was our 27 hour trek from Alaska to Thailand. Here you see the what extended hours of travel and sleep depravation do to normally mild mannered people.

I also have a thrown together video of Friday, our first full day in Bangkok. I’ll post that later today or tomorrow sometime. Until then…

I’m going swimming!

What happens at practice doesn’t always have to stay at practice. Below is a video of what goes on when we practice for events like Heart of Worship.

Thanks to Inga who was in town and had her camera to record all of the footage I used in this video. There’s another one that’ll be posted tomorrow or Monday that’ll have the debut of Come to Us on it.

I had a video posted on the other site before it crashed that had all of these songs in one video. But that file is ginormously-huge and can present quite a problem for those wanting to watch a video that’s over 20 minutes long. So what I did was divide them up into three separate videos, part one, two, and three.

Part 1 has One Way, Jesus Paid it All, and Nothing but the Blood

Part 2 has From the Inside Out

Part 3 has The Stand

The sound quality still isn’t very good, but I’m a person that likes to look back and reminisce and these videos are a chance to look back and remember just how cool of a Sunday it was when Kairos got to lead worship for all three services.
