Today starts the eleven day whirlwind adventure that is the 2009 Thailand mission trip. The six of us left this morning and are currently in the air between Anchorage and Seattle. Hopefully, there will be consistent wifi access along the trip. Seattle doesn’t have free wifi, the jerks, but hopefully Tokyo will and there will be an update posted. Then we’ll be in Bangkok for the first day before heading down to the resort where the retreat is being held at. If there’s accessible wifi in Bangkok and at the resort, there’ll be updates a plenty. At least once a day with videos, pictures, and words about all of the stuff that is going to be happening.
To keep up with everything that’s going on, check back here, my Flickr, or follow my Twitter updates.
Come on this adventure with me!

No doubt you’ve probably noticed the different look around here compared to last week. I’m testing some new themes and designs around here and seeing which one I like best. I’ve given the current design a few day trial to see what I think of it and there’s stuff I like about it and there’s stuff I don’t necessarily like about it, and I’m going to give the other themes I have in mind a trial too so it might take up to a couple weeks for me to narrow down the theme I want to use. Please bear with me as things will look different every other day or so and please comment often giving your opinion on the current design of the site. Hopefully by the end of the test period, I’ll have a design and look that is nice looking, functional, and user friendly.
Thanks
Dustin

I know that I haven’t written anything here in a while. I’m sorry, but school work is piling up with the end of the semester drawing near and I just haven’t had a whole lot of stuff to blog about. As soon as these research papers are finished and I’m able to think in a more creative way and outside of the academic world I shall be back and blogging to my heart’s content. I’m not sure if that sentence made sense, but oh well, that just proves my point even more.
I shall return!

Starting today, six bloggers are traveling with Compassion to the Dominican Republic to witness first hand what life there is like as well as the work Compassion is doing down there. They will be telling stories, posting pictures, and sharing videos of the experience and the atmosphere in hopes that it will inspire readers to sponsor a child.
This is a really cool thing that Compassion is doing and I strongly urge you to follow along for the next six days as these bloggers share the story of these children. All of the posts related to this trip can be found here.
Go read. Follow along. Sponsor a child. Save a life.
Dustin
Go sponsor a child here.

Okay, I spend a good chunk of yesterday waist deep in html code trying to get this thing ready to roll and I think I’m there. There’s going to be a couple minor things I plan to add shortly, but for the most part I’m ready to go. So here it is! This is the new site. What do you think? Likes? Dislikes? Comments? Concerns?
Share them!

If anyone is reading this blog, it is because you’re reading it through a feed instead of coming to the site itself. The actual site, if you go check it out, is actually quite boring as there is just a page that says I’m not ready yet. I have a few things I want to add to it before I really “go live” with it. As a reward for making a little more effort into following this blog through some sort of feed, you’ll get some inside information others will have to wait to find out.
1. This is going to be the indefinite home for my blog, (unless I somehow screw something up or get bored and want a new domain.) And hopefully I won’t accidentally erase all of the content on this site like I did at shaggyworshiper.
2. ShaggyWorshiper.com is going to be centered more around the topic of worship and leadership. I’ve been talking to Joel and he has some topic ideas and what I’d really like to do is have 3 or 4 people all contributing to that blog to give it a more rounded feel and that way readers will get a taste of some other amazing Christians I know and their thoughts about the amazing topic of worship. I have a couple people in mind who I’d like to have contribute, but I can’t name drop yet because… well because I haven’t talked to them about it yet.
Anyway, the moral of the story is, now you have another blog that you need to read and follow. shaggyworship.com, and now dustinpetersen.com
Let’s make this blog absolutely scrumtrelescent
